Thumbs up HTS-2000 aluminum brazing rods

Girard posted a link to this awhile ago. (www.aluminumrepair.com) I bought a lb. of rods to try. The stuff works awesome! In ten minutes I fixed a worn out brake pedal buy filling the hole and redrilling. All you need is a Propane/Mapp torch to fix anything like this you might break on a bike. Guards, levers, subframe cracks, etc. Supposed to even work on cases that have oil impregnation, where Tig is a big problem. Check out the video, with the lap joint being beaten with a hammer and not breaking. I replicated that tonight and its no BS. Opens up doors to fix things that would previously be junk, without a big $$ Tig welder. Good tool.

I bought a pound of these rods last year when I broke something on my bike.

They are awesome!

I've used these to build a few things for different motorcycles. They work great but some practice is needed. Really think aluminum is not going to get hot enough.

Yep, it does take some practice to use properly. I have some stashed in the garage for fixing things.
When done right, it makes a very strong weld- stronger than the parent metal.

Brazed my cracked rim yesterday. Looks really nice.

Okay, I hesitate to say this but I will. Where I brazed the crack I got a ridge all the way across the rim. It's hard to explain what I mean, but I seems apparent that the rim was originally brazed together from the factory
