Default Looking for input on 2007 FSR450

Hello,

I'm comtemplating buying a used 2007 FSR450, and thought I should get some input before I do. My concerns are mostly: parts availabilty, known problems, and how it would compare against KTMs, Husabergs, Huskies, etc...

From what I've read, this bike is unlike the FSE before it, and unlike the 2008 FSR that follows it (changes to chassis and motor). Hence my question about parts.
As for handling, etc... I do remember reading a great Australian review of a FSR, but I don't recall if it was for a 2007, or 2008. Otherwise what little I did find on the 2007 was mediocre at best. While I expect it's a lot better than what I'm on now (plated 2001 DRZ400E), I'd rather not be paying for a "Top Class" bike that isn't.
Thoughts?

Thanks-A

Go see Dave Fair at Gasgaspacific (victoria) and set up a demo ride. Also here are the reviews. Tell him Sheldon told you to.

My 07 has been a great bike.

07 seat is hard - I fitted a softer 08 seat
valving was a little harsh in the forks - I got my suspension sorted through Racetech

Parts availability is not a worry in Australia.

I also fitted a larger Clark tank. I would go for it...

Thank you both for the info. While I'm still not sold, I'm perhaps a little closer. I've also contacted GoFasters to confirm parts avail. and parts crossover with other years. So far it looks good.

My next step is to find out if the Fan Kit will fit with the Clarke Tank? (GFs doesn't know). I guess I'll make a new thread for that one, but let me know if you know.

Thanks again.

I have a genuine fan kit fitted with a Clark tank. I also have Force radiator guards on there. Take note that the fan will have to be modified to fit. Not hard but you need to cut away some of the fan surround next to the bike chassis.
