Well the Maxxis initially worked very well, and still does in the dry rocks, but its downright dangerous if things get faster and especially wet. Funny, it seems like the center knobs have worn down and the tire has a very vague, wandering feel. Also, on a grass track it was impossible to ride, I expected the rear trials tire to give but was surprised at the fronts refusal to hook up. No more for me. Going to try an MX31 or Bstone M59 with a Tubliss.

Have you tried a Kenda Southwick II I love the front and rear . Work great in sand ,loamy soil ,mud ,rocks, logs, grass tracks. Go to XTRM site and sign up it's free and you get a good discount on Kenda tires.

My Kenda experience is limited to the Millville which was the worst rear tire I have ever ridden on. Really turned me off to the brand.

I ordered a BStone M59. The Pirelli Scorpion XC is supposed to be based on the older MT44, which was a great performing tire I have used in the past, but got the side knobs torn off in the rocks in a couple rides. Not good since I'm going to a Tubliss.

How long ago did you run the Millville. I've been running nothing but Kenda's the last 2 seasons. I just took a Millville off the rear. No chuncking what so ever. They are not a one per season tire. I go thru 2-3 rears.

A few years ago. It was a super hard compound with very poor traction in all but perfect conditions. I hated it, pulled it off after two rides and gave it away so it didn't get a chance to chunk. Perhaps now they are different, and they have the "Sticky" versions of their tires as well. Just lost interest in trying them. If only we could get Trellborgs again, they were fantastic, just worked without drama. I've had the rear figured out for awhile just need to settle on a front I like in rocks and mud.

Yes, and you being in Canada its no problem. I should get a couple from there, like I did that with the Mitas trials tire.
