Default Pipe mount

Ok I have a ec300 and the pipe to frame mount is missing. I have no idea what its supposed to look like . I was hoping someone here could share a pic of were this mount attaches to the frame? Should I order the correct parts or make a new mount? Is this something that breaks a lot?
Here is a couple pics of what I am working with. Please feel free to leave your experienced advice.

The hole in your frame is missing a threaded insert (riv nut?) that a 6mm bolt would thread into - looks just like the ones on your seat mounts. Check out the parts crossover on the home page for part #s for KX & CR upper pipe mounts that are the same as the GG mount.

pj7 is exactly right. I had the same thing happen - the rivnut came/broke out. I ended up welding an ordinary M6 nut onto the frame in place of the rivnut. MIG works fine on chromoly frames.

I've got a similar issue on my year 2000 EC300, I've got both the frame and pipe mounts but seem to be missing whatever it is that links the two together?
Can anyone post a pic of what should be there?
Many thanks

Call me a cheap but It really bothers me that the shipping cost as much as the part. So I am going to attempt to make one. I will post up a pic of the finished product. Wish me luck

There's a former GG dealer on your side of the state that told me (when they sold GG) that they removed those mounts because of issues with rubbing the fuel tank. We don't run the top one on either of our bikes (mine broke years ago and the kids never had one when we bought it). I even have several new ones sitting in a box of misc parts I bought years ago, just too lazy to put them on. Not sure what they're worth but I'd give you one if you were ever on this area. Did you try to get one from the local Honda or Kawasaki dealer?

this has happened to me also. i just get in there and bend it away but it is not the best design. the other thing that happens is the bolt goes into the tank before the mount does and it almost acts like a drill bit. i bolt the two together from the inside out, when the tank is removed, but this doesnt stop the mount from hitting and its a pain to work on. i have also tried flipping the mount around so its on the front of the pipe, and not the back, but using the stock mount, it dosnt work.

Just realised that the mount I'm missing is a different one!
My problem is the mount on the expansion pipe that's on the bottom frame rail - I've got a bracket on the pipe and the one on the frame but they're not connected?
