Default 250 -300 conversion

Can anybody tell me if you can convert the 250 to 300 by changing jugs ?
i thought that was what i had read ,but I saw asomewhere that the stroke is different ???If thats so, than it wouldn't work properly, right?piston height and cylinder ports would be off.Does anybody know for a fact by having done or not been able to do it?
Thanks
Stoby

You can do it. Take a 250 bottom and put on a 300 top and run like the wind. Never done it but had planned to. As I understand it, jug, head, and piston.

Stroke is not different. Both 250 and 300 run a 72mm stroke, the 300 has a 72mm piston so is a square bore x stroke, the 250 has a 60 something mm stroke.
100% works

The PV parts swap right over to the 300 cyl too. Don't forget you will have to rejet.
