Angry EC200 Six Days gear shaft broken

Took receipt of my new EC200 over the weekend - changed from a previous 200 of an orange persuasion - running in is tedious but still a magic little machine even for someone over 100kg....until the gear selector broek off the end of the gear lever shaft that is. End of fun - after just 2 hours.

Anyone else experienced such a problem with this machine?

Wow, did it take a pretty good hit? If not I imagine it was a flaw in the casting and would be talking to my dealer.

Thats a first. Good news is its an easy fix, just the side cover and clutch need to be removed.

Nope - no hit - merely went to change down - and - nothing - just a floppy lever! Dealer has ripped it out and the weld between shaft and selector fork is almost non existent and was only welded over a length of about an eight of an inch - hence the failure.

I've never had a problem. I think if you slam them into a couple stumps it makes them stronger. Well, thats how I break mine in, and I never had a problem. Sounds like a 1 off.

On my 07 I hit a rock really hard and broke the shaft at the weld too. Better than bending a shift fork in the gear box or something else more expensive.

I misunderstood, thought you snapped the end of the shaft off.
