Angry Fuel tap fault

On my 07 ec300 I spent a lot of time trying to get my bike to run on the main jet only to find out that the rubber gaskit in the fuel tap was not cut out correctly in the normal position passage hole. I am aware of another new bike that seized because of this problem. Check your fuel taps. Anyone else struck this?
