I bought one of those xfun shift levers from offroadchampions.com, it fits well and seems like a nice piece.

Initially I emailed xfun directly, then offroadchampions emailed back to let me know they were the US importer. The only choice on their levers is the color, they do not offer different lenght or offset.

Subject: RE: Gas Gas Shift Tip

Hi John,

Thanks so much for your prompt reply... I can tell you that the Gas Gas
community here in the States, and internationally as well, is chomping at
the bit to have an alternative to the stock shift lever... The general
feeling among owners is that the Gas Gas EC/DE series bikes are as close
to perfect as you can buy off the shelf... The 2 outstanding exceptions
are the self-retracting (read shin-scarring) kick-stand and the too-low
shift lever with the too-short tip. The only real alternative we have now
is to pay the $50 or so to buy an OEM shift lever for a late model EC 125,
which is only marginally better.

Any Gas Gas dealer can get the shift shaft for you... I typically buy
parts from my local dealer in Denton, TX, SMS Racing. However, if you want
to order online, you can find just about anything Gas Gas at
http://www.gofasters.com

Stephen,

Done. Thanks, we have the parts on the way. FYI, we will make the lever
the same length as the 125. With optional tips from -5mm shorter to +20mm
longer this should provide for any size rider. In the future, GoFaster will
have our parts available - tell your friends!

John

That is good news.

I have small feet and can't get my Gaerne's under the shifter unless I raise it too high.

Yeah, I emailed John Clark @ hammerhead designs back on Feb. 6 and he told me that they were in production and should be available within 30 days... I'll believe when I see!

We need everyone and their mother to email him and ask when they will be ready... sales@hammerheaddesignsinc.com

I had done the same on 1/29/08 and heard the same. I am planning on mid-March.

They needed to buy a new broach and finally decided to go forward with it.

I am looking forward to a better shifter.

The '07 shifter is longer and feels fine. The problem is, and has always been, the steel tip wearing the aluminum ears creating a sloppy tip. Give me an all steel shifter like the Pampera has, I'll gladly take the extra few ounces.

I got tired of waiting so what I do now is build up the worn tips with HTS-2000 brazing rod, reshape it on a belt sander, and redrill and tap the hole for M6. An M6 screw with loctite holds the tip and doesn't turn so it stays tighter longer. I fixed four shifters like this, takes me less than an hour each.
