Default Gas tank marking

There is a marking on the left side of the gas tank that says 3L, does that mean 3 liters left in the tank or needs 3 to fill up?

3L left mate.
If you look closely , up above there is another partially hidden by the frame rail which says 6L.

easier to see from the right side, at least it seems easier. also easier to see how much fuel is actually in there.

Thanks for that guys, just trying to figure out my fuel range, seemed more likely that way looking at the shape of the tank once you've taken the seat off.

I measured it out on my '04 and IIRC the 3L meant 3L until reserve.

How much is for reserve? I saw in the manual that the tank holds 9L, I put just under 10L in it yesterday??
