I run my EC300 on Amsoil Dominator at 40:1. My buddy runs his EXC300 on Amsoil Sabre at 100:1.
If your motor's in good shape and jetted properly you should be fine with the recommendations on the can.

I do what the manual says 50:1. I use quality oil & I get very little wear. Modern, quality oils are very good and cling to the metal so once you have enough adding more to the fuel doesn't improve wear it just clogs things up faster. I think if you want to protect your engine better just keep ontop of the air filter situation. It's muck getting in that wears things out usually not lack of oil.

A few years back I bought two cases of Amsoil , back then it was all 100-1. When I ran out , year before last I went to a dealer and bought a gallon jug of Amsoil dominator. Without realizing that Amsoil had changed its product line up,( read not looking at instructions) I ran the dominator at 100-1, even though its meant for 50-1. Last year When i did the top end on my mc250, still had'nt clued in, everything looked fantastic, no problems whatsoever. It was only this spring did i realize my mistake. I can't say enough good things about this stuff. It works!

I've been running Motul 50:1 with the high grade gas in my Gassers and Kawa's.

Assuming the bike is jetted properly, is there a brand of oil that keeps visible exhaust smoke to a minimum or none at all?
