Default I'll be a newbie next week.

Hello to all!

Well, next week my new to me 2005 GG EC200DE will be home! Can't wait! This is my first GG. Plus, I haven't had a 2-stroke in 12 years so I'm a little worried. I'm sure I'll have lots of question too keep you guys busy. Here’s one.

I’m concerned about how loud it is. I’ve been looking around and noticed that I should check/clean the PV. I’ll do that and I hope that the manual show how to do it.

Here’s another question...

For the guys/girls that ride rocky root infested single track. What are you using for sprockets and chains? Number of teeth?

Other than that I think I’m good. I’m still looking for a new shift lever but that should be to hard to find.

Here’s what the bike has:
Almost new Michelin M12 Tires
Factory GasGas Plastic
FMF Gnarly pipe
FMF TurbineCore2
2006 Swingarm chain guard/guide
Acerbis Rally Pro
LTR Case saver
LTR Mud Guard
LTR Radiator Braces
FlatLand Racing Radiator Guards
CRD Skid Plate

And the most important of all...A Title for road use. Not like I want to ride it for 5 miles on the road but good to have.

Thanks
nhrider

Dump the M-12'S fast. The rear doesn't handle rocks at all and the front is lousy too. I put a Maxxis IT on the rear and I'm going to put a Maxxis SI up front. The IT in the rear works well and holds up to the rocks.

I did a couple of things to quiet down my bike. 1) Sprayed the inside of the skid plate with undercoat. (helped a litttle) 2) Replaced my aluminum pipe guard with a CF guard. (Helped a ton) 3) Repacked my silencer.

I'm on a 250 but I'm running 13/52 for sprockets.

Welcome to GasGas. BTW did you get the bike from Steve?

Ed

Yes. I have to work on getting the bike home and it's all mine.

Any bad history about that bike?

Hope there isn't anything wrong with it.

Nope. Nothing wrong with it. I saw Steve post it over on NEDB and just made the connection. I'm sure you'll love it. I only met Steve once at the NEDB campout ride last year. The only issue I know of is that the CRD skid plate isn't very strong. Some folks here (GMP) have fabricated new clamps to hold it better.

Here is the photo I have of it:

the gasser 200's are great. ive got an 03. they didnt change much from about 01-06. if you havent got any manuals go to www.gasgas.es and do the following to get the workshop and service manuals,

1) click the english option near the top of the page, the website comes standard in spanish
2) click on enduro
3) on the right hand side of your page slect your 2006 as your year model ( the bikes were relatively enchanged until 07)
4) after it reloads click on ec200 at the top of the page and then click enducross 200 that drop down
5) after it reloada again scroll to the bottom of the page and there will be the manuals with the Winzip logo next to them, click the english option.

This works for all of the 2t enduro bikes i believe

I run 13/52 for gearing on my 200 and it's perfect for the tight stuff. For sound I have the euro spec silencer and I tested at 85dBA.

Skid,

Two towns up from you. I sent you a PM. Take a look.

13/52 sounds good. Where are you guys getting your front sprocket? I can find rears but that's it.

Thanks!

Any of the advertisers here will have a sprocket to you in a couple days.
Ironman also makes one for GG and it's not much more $.
