Blocked Rads?
Hi all, just started my winter strip down on my EC300 and noticed that the radiators are caked in mud and some of the aluminium fins have been flattened by my weekly antics with the pressure washer!
There are no leaks at all but I'm keen to get the crap out and tweak the fins straight again (carefully) - what's the best way of cleaning them up for a return to maximum cooling efficiency? Cheers |

Panty hose as prophylaxis.
I have seen "fin combs" that are designed to fit the specific fin gap ( for car radiators ). |

Try soaking them in very hot water with a bit of washing powder and use a old tooth brush to clean or running under the hot tap
Use a pair of tweezers to straighten the fins

I generally use plastic cable ties(zip ties) to straighten out rad fins. I choose a zip tie about the size of the void between the fins, carefully pushing it through.
