Default Lost kicker

I go to kick my bike over yesterday and the whole unit was gone!! Did a bump start and retraced back to where I last kicked it over .... no luck. Gasser unit is $114. Just wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives. Got a race i'd like to ride next Sunday so I don't think I'll waste too much time chasing the best deal. Just wondering if one of the locals might have someting that will work. I need the whole unit not just the lever.

But the Yammi kicker is o-ring sealed I believe and the Gasser is not. Might be able to also find it cheaper through one of the many on-line discount places that sell Yamaha stuff.

That sucks about loosing it Stuff like that really pisses me off.

Todays $114 lesson

two rides ago I noticed the kicker did not swing out so smoothly. Figured it just needed some lube on the pivots and hit it with a little wd 40. It did the same thing just before this last ride. Hit it w/some more wd 40 and thought I need to put some oil on this thing. I bet what I thought was pivots needing lube was actually the kicker moving around on the splines slwowly working it's way off. Moral of that story is ... Don't just spray things with wd 40!! Get down on your hands and knees and check them out!!

mine came off my 3rd or 4th ride, and my triplu clamps started to come loose. the kicker was shiny enough to see in the mud, and the bolt was right there too. lost thi spring, so i put felt washers on it, it stays put, i have to pivot it in though.
thats when i went through with loctite!! no probs since

One nice positive about the Yamaha kicker is the length. It makes starting the bike effortless. I have to admit that I like the look of the Gas Gas starter better, it's really shiny, and says Gas Gas on it. Cool.
