Parts Compatibility for EC200: 2004 vs 2001

Hi guys,
Do you know if the stock gas tank and shrouds off a 2004 EC200 will fit a 2001 EC200? I also need to know if the FMF Turbine Core 2 SA for a 2004 EC200 will fit my 2001 EC200. Thanks,

Pretty sure the shrouds will work, but not the tank. I believe the bikes prior to '03 had the higher shock mount and therefor the famous notch in the tank. Later tanks without the cut-out would sit on the shock mount - not good. I've read of guys making the '04 SA work on '01 models, but requires fabrication, not a perfect fit as is.

I believe rockyroad is correct, but talk to Cruiser. He has an '04 tank, '01 frame, '97 and '03 bikes.

The 04 tank I have fits the 01 frame ok, not great, but ok, you will need to drill a hole in the frame for the front mount bolt, near the steering head. The 04 tank has that bolt about an inch back. The 01 frame should be solid there. No problem drilling and tapping a hole there. The 99 and older has the large square hole there for the voltage regulator. Have GT check for the indent in the tail of the tank, it should be there, the 04 tank I have does have the indent..so does my 03,,
