2011 EC 300 jetting for 5000-7500ft??
Just became a member of the GasGas club. Bought a 2011 EC 300. What are you guys running for jetting for higher altitudes 5000-7500 ft? Should I just buy a JD Jetting kit and call it good?
thanks |

I just ran my '03 MC 250 for the first time at 7000 ft outside of Denver with the JD jetting kit. 168, Red needle 3rd position which is recommended on the kit. It is about 95% of the way there without doing much else. Another guy in town ran it as well with great results reported.

Just got back from Salida,CO. We rode from 7,000 to 13,000 feet and my bike ran fine off the bottom and on top but was rich in the middle to the point I was getting a good amount of spooge I shouldn't have had. Never fouled a plug, never got hot even on long, hard, technical climbs that required constant clutch slipping. Mileage was over 25mpg (65-70 per stock tank) My 07 300 got over 30mpg last year but it had the RB head mod.

Jetting
Going thru my jets and needles I found a DDJ, N1EC and a blue JD jetting needle for a Husky WR 300 with a PWK carb on it. Will any of these work?

Called a local dealer and he suggested a stock YZ 250 needle in middle clip along with 160 main. Pilot is a 40. Rode it around the neighborhood and it seems like its working. Will be awhile til I get her in the dirt. Ill report back

Thats a small main mate. I'd be very careful going that small unless if you have a 36mm carb. That would make more sense.
I'm running a YZ needle. N3EW at clip 2 with a 42 Pilot and 178main which I will drop when it warms up some more. 25C+ / 80F+ 300M /1000FT |
