Gas gas ec 300 crank shaft nut
Hi i need help.
I did a general overhaul. I replaced the crankshaft seals. and when I tighten the nut (crank shaft pinion lock nut).there is the opposite thread. I found on the Internet that he needs to be tightened on 98NM. but when I tighten it to approximately 70NM .the crankshaft is very difficult to turn. should it be? can new seals do it? Thanks for help. And sorry f?r my Bad english. |

You should not need much force with the hit.

Agreed, if a light tap does not do it, I would try and use another method, such as a crank installer tool to assist with the light hammer tapping.
If you hit it too hard you could force the crank out of true. |

They generally always need a sharp tap.

As above, just eyeball the crank webs in the cases to make sure it is centred.

Have you installed the gasket between the case halves?
Sealer alone won't work. |
