Default 2001 EC 250 Power for Vapor Speedo.

Hi,

Where can I tap some power from to feed my new speedo?

There are loads of wires under the seat. Are these any good?

There are also a couple beneath the petrol tank.

I have heard that the yellow wire is a good start.

Thanks.

Mark.

Do you have a test light? A good place to start is take off the seat and place the tank where you can get at the wires and still deliver fuel to the bike. Start it up and start testing wires with a test light.

There are two sets of wires from the stator. One set go to the cdi and the other set is just a pair of wires which are disconnected. They are yellow and white. I assume this is the charging circuit which has been disconnected due to not being needed?

Gonna attach a light to it later. I am assuming it will be 12v?

Thanks.

Mark.

The yellow is power, but it's AC not DC. You need a regulator/rectifier to get DC, Trail Tech sells one you can splice into for DC power.
