Bike year & model = '08 EC250
Temperature (degF) = 50-65 Elevation (feet) = 0-700' Main jet = 178 Pilot jet = 42 Needle & notch = N1EG #2 Air screw setting = 2 Throttle valve/slide = #7 Results: I run DENICOL S2 @ 50:1 , no other engine mods. It idles nicely and pulls up front wheel in 2nd and 3rd when snapping the throttle. I'm still playing about with the settings just to increase low end response. I got a cck needle just to try it out. __________________ |

Bike year & model = 2006 EC300 Temperature (degF) = 30 - 40 Elevation (feet) = 0 – 500 Main jet = 185 Pilot jet = 40 Needle & notch = CCK 3 Air screw setting = 0.5 Throttle valve/slide = 7 Results: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my lower elevation winter setting. Throttle response is great and the engine runs very strong from idle (1100 RPM) up to 10000 RPM.

'07 EC250, temperature around 0 C (-5 - +5), elevation 0 to 100m, 10 kms distance from sea, TTS 50:1, Unleaded super 98, 10ml ethanol additive per tank to help against carb icing, the air intakes of one of the radiator covered with tape, protection for the carb from snow and to guide warm air from the cylinder to carb boot.
Pilot: 45, 1 turn out Needle: N1EF #3 Slide #7 Main : 185 Finally the bike runs Great! Nothing to complain about. Tiny amount of spooge at the end of silencer after 2 hours on the MX track. It rips! if you want more power then your name must be Juha Salminen ) Last edited by Leon_gasgas; 03-01-2008 at 08:15 AM. Reason: Additional info |

Bike year & model = 2007 EC 300 Temperature (degF) = 50 Elevation (feet) = 200 Main jet = 178 Pilot jet = 42 Needle & notch = CEK (3 - middle) Air screw setting = 3 turns Throttle valve/slide = 1.5 Results: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riding style: slow technical trails -- rarely out of 3rd gear. Premix: Using BelRay H1R mixed about 40:1. Only a tiny bit of "spooge" on the tail pipe after 40 miles. I'd call it "just the right amount". Not enough to be messy, but enough that you know the engine is getting lubed. Smoke: once warm, little to no smoke at all. Performance: very tractable, very smooth. Rider: very happy. |

Bike year & model = '03 EC300
Temperature (degF) = 40-100 Elevation (feet) = 0-3000' Main jet = 168 Pilot jet = 38 Needle & notch = LTR middle notch Air screw setting = 2 Throttle valve/slide = #8 Results: I run BP Racegas, 100 Octane. Premix is 50:1 using Total Grand Prix 2T oil. LTR power valve cover is fitted, Boyssen Carbon Fibre Reeds and Messico Exhaust. Bike pulls clean from bottom with a peakiness at 1/2 throttle and revs to the moon. Peakiness could be due to carbon reeds, will try fibre glass reeds for a more linear power delivery. Starts first kick hot or cold, idles good (after I fitted the #8 slide). Very little smoke or spooge. Kim

Bike year & model = 2008 Gas Gas DE 300
Temperature (degF) = 45-60 Elevation (feet) = 250'- 5000' Main jet = 178 Pilot jet = 35 Needle & notch = N1EF 2nd position Air screw setting = 1 to 2 turns out depending on temp and elevation Throttle valve/slide = #7 Results: Crisp clean response. I run Chevron Supreme and Golden Spectro at 50:1 and my Irridium BR8EIX Spark Plug burns a beautiful tan just like that perfectly cooked camp fire marshmallow.
