Yes, get a link skid. Actually its not bad in average conditions like most harescrambles courses. Its the technical trails that will beat the crap out of it. FWIW, it seems all bikes have migrated to this linkage geometry(rocker on swingarm).

I now have the link skid on my 12 and it already has gouges in it.
I bought it as the bottom of the shock was getting damaged a lot. Cheers mark
