Bearings for Rear, Cant be right?
so thinking I need to replace some bearing in my rear shock assembly, pulled out the parts list and diagram, and was floored..
The parts in question are needle bearings.. the bike requires 11 of them at 22 bucks a pop? Are you freaking kidding me? well over 200 bucks for a handful of bearings? Any suggestions on a less expensive alternative? |

If you buy the swingarm bearing kit AND the linkage bearing kit you will get everything you need minus the swingarm pivot. I would check to make sure the swingarm pivot is o.k. before you order the stuff. The kit you have pictured will just do the linkage. No swingarm bearings...
The "kits" come with seals instead of the stock o-ring set-up. Some more experienced folks here say the o-rings work better than the seals. You can order the o-rings separately from Go Fasters if you want to go that route. They are fairly inexpensive.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the kits I got from Go Fasters this spring were All Balls kits, not Moose.

just took it all apart, and all the bearings look great.. the washers on each side of the dogbones look good, everything is in place.. just removed the rear shock as well and dont see any issues either..
Ill remove the swingarm now and see if the clunking noise derived from those beaings or not.. i was getting a clunking and it sounded like from the top of my shock.. hence recon on the bearings, etc. |

I just replaced my bearings as well and used a kit ordered from local shop and it was MOOSE brand, needle bearings were spaced apart and not solid needles all the way around like stock stuff, after a couple of rides noticed more movement than before I replaced everything so after inspection the movement was from the rear most dogbone, I pulled out bolt repacked with bel-ray and put back together and it tightened right up, but for how long don't know. I've missed last 2-weekends of riding so hopefully this Sunday I can hit some trail and see if it loosens up.
If it turns out I have to repack after every ride I will need to look at another brand of bearings for sure. Ron |

well I just put in my All Balls uesterday and they went in good. They have a few less needles than the Gasgas ones but I can replace these 2 or 3 times before buying the gasgas ones.
