Default 2005 Factory replica!

It's a public holiday here in the UK on Monday. That gives me 3 solid days in the garage to Strip, clean and lube my bike. I have some interesting upgrades in the pipe line and big box of parts on their way from Spain! By next weekend my old 200 smoker will be as close to a factory replica as possible!

Watched this space for a before pic and a few after pics

Just out of interest which make of piston is best?

Can't wait!

As for the piston, I've only used the OEM which I am pretty sure it is a Wiesco piston.

Wossner pistons seem ok. The top end kits - rings / l.end / piston are decent value, I used one when I rebuilt my '06 ec 200 and it runs great. Biketech will stock them for your bike.

A couple of before pics for you. The last race was a tough one but I loved it. As for the mudguard, thats the first time I have launched a bike up a hill without rider!

You can get a cheaper piston from Wiseco, and they are good pistons: By cross referencing with other models (for the 200cc GasGas, the Polaris 600cc triple cylinder snowmobile piston is an example), you can save some money over GasGas specific Wiseco piston kits.

However, my preference in pistons are those made by Wossner (Germany), who furnished the OEM pistons from 2004 through at least 2007. Wossner also makes the same piston sold by Athena, except that they have a non-stick coating on the outside of the piston. The same rings fit both Wossner and Athena pistons.

"A" Piston kit:

Complete Athena line for your bike:

Athena USA was bringing them into the US.
I spoke to a fellow last year, and bought some piston kits from him.
