Default New GasGas owner! Well new to me 2005 EC250

Just a brief history...my last two stroke...or dirtbike for that matter was my 1987 RM125 circa 1992. Since then it's been quads with a street bike sprinkled in. I recently had the itch real bad to get back on 2 wheels/2 stroke and I was looking heavily KDX's. I ended up finding my new to me 2005 EC250 for $1500. I felt it was great deal. It was just serviced. Only bad item, one of the silencer tabs on the frame needs to be rewelded. Overall it was in newer and better condition than anything I looked at. I can't wait to get out and ride.

I'd just like to add back a kick stand and headlight.

I went from a KDX220R to a 2005 EC250. I was always looking for more power out of the KDX. I'd have to plan ahead because my throttle didn't respond quickly enough. That problem ended when I got the Gasser.

buying a bike at that price and making it yours is a real cost effective way to have a nice bike.

Yup, know where it is.

The tabs on the subframes are prone to braking and I have already welded mine twice on my GasGas and once on the CR250 I used to have. No big deal for anyone that is used to welding aluminum tubing.

Hope to see you out there at some of the NETRA events.

Ed

I'd like to try the NETRA nervous novice event that just got bumped to October. Depends how much seat time I get beforehand. I may not make an event until next year if work /family doesn't give me the time to ride.

Good luck getting seat time. Most of us have to deal with balancing work/family obligations.

Look into joining a local club like Tri State. Joining a club will help you gain experience etc.
