Question My options for a sub-mount?

Hi,

I currently use a Scotts damper on an above-the-bar Fastway FIT mount. The Fastway FIT system is a bar clamp with integral damper and bark-buster mounting points. It's also can be adjusted fore and aft to accomodate using either of the OEM bar mounting positions. It's pretty trick.

But now I'd like to raise the bars. I currently run with the stock Hebo bars, and I can't seem to find anything taller and with little sweep. Hence the need for bar risers (and with an underbar mount for my damper).

What are my options when considering such an item? I'd rather not lay out the coin for a complete new upper triple clamp. And I'd like to try to use a Fastway bar clamp (without mount) so that I can continue to use my Fastway bark busters.

So who makes an underbar mount that works with a Scotts damper and which uses a standard bar clamp [which I'd replace with a Fastway one]?

Or is there some other way to piece together a solution to this puzzle?

Thanks.

Dale

Force Accessories in Australia makes SWEET rad guards for Gassers. I have a pair on my 250. These suckers are bulletproof.

I just ordered a BRP sub mount and Bonz hand guard mounts, as I have the top clamp.

The hardest part for rad guard design is where to put a rear mount to triangulate for strength. On a GasGas, the solution is in the head stay. Its easy to make new ones with a third hole to add a rear mount. Any rad guard can be strengthened this way. The close fit of the grill to the rad on those is what you don't want, for cooling as well as room for the grill to bend in a little from an impact.

You'll be very happy with the BRP SUB mount. BRP makes top notch products, and I think their prices aren't too bad either for what you get. I have BRP top clamps and SUB mounts on both of my bikes and can't say enough good things about them. Everything bolted up perfectly and the quality of the components is very high. Customer service is good too.

Thanks for the leads (to the Protech and BRP submounts).

Could I please ask one of you with either of these mounts to measure the bolt hole locations in the under bar mounts? I want to determine which Fastway handle bat clamp I would need to buy. The Fastway site lists many clamps (with differing dimensions).

Thanks.

Dale
