Default Front Sproket

I have read a lot about rear sprockets, but can't seem to find anything on the front.

What brands do you all use and where do you get them?

99 EC200 is the bike. I have a 12/48 gearing now. Looking to go with a 13 on the front and leave the 48 on rear and go from there. Front is cheaper than rear, so seems like a good start.

GG only, no interchange. Check ebay or the forum supporters. They're cheap.

Sorry, I thought you meant interchanges. Being steel the fronts last a long time pretty much whatever brand, just my opinion. Pretty sure 13t front was stock. I run 13/50 and my kid runs 12/49 if it matters.

I bought a Renthal 12 tooth a couple years ago through GoFaster's. My local bike shops' catalogs did not list the application so I'm not sure how easy it is to get on the local level. My factory 13 tooth was made by Talon if I remember correctly.

I have Used DID O or X ring chains with good results for many years. The X ring type has somewhat lower rolling friction.

I used Regina ORN6 chains right up until they sold out to MSR. Always got wear on the sides so I went with the narrow DID X-Ring. No more wear on the sides and seems to be holding up.

Ditto - lasts as long as the highest priced chains but can be purchased much cheaper. I usually get short ones on fleabay and join them together.
