Default my 2011 sixdays

When I set up the suspension on this bike I had to Back off shock preload to soften it up and also to get 110 to 115 mm sag. this tells me that the spring is ok for my weight. I have rode the 2011 regular 300 and the suspension is super soft and lowers quite a bit under my weight. Not so with my six days version. I suspect that it has stiffer springs all around but i don't know for sure. The spike is before the mid stroke and only noticable on mid sized rolling rocks and square edges. To test this a 150lb fast rider rode it and noticed it to be even harsher. To remind you all it never bottoms out. I notice the spike in the rear also. and it is set correct. It has to be a flex shim issue in my opinion. When I get some cash I will have this issue checked out by someone that I know that knows enduro suspension real well. In the mean time I can deal with it ok, I just have to be more carefull in the loose rocks. I believe this bike is set up for a seriously fast rider.

I will be picking up an '11 300 SD tomorrow and am a little nervous about the stock suspension. I am coming off of an 06 250ec with Marzocchis and Ohlin.
I have that suspension just the way I like it. I am probably 175# in gear.

I am selling the 250 to a buddy and he's a big boy, probably 245 in gear....so he's gonna need some setup too. So, my question is are the Marz internals basically the same from 06 to the 11's as far as spring dimensions, length, etc? I am thinking about swapping the springs between the two bikes which would bring both me and my buddy in the ballpark, spring rate wise.

Tell me what you think.....and thanks!

Alan,

I'd say so, no real design changes. You should be able to swap your springs/valving or cartridges if you want.

I rode a standard 2011 300 and it it set up completly different from the six days version. It was much softer and more appropriate for a 175lb rider. I think you will be happy with the springs that are in there.
