Default Question on Straightening Levers

Just a quick one, is it easy to straighten levers?? I guess you could use a hammer but I would imagine that they would just snap...

Take them off and put them in a vice with wide jaws.

I have been much more successful with a hammer than a slow bend in a vice

+1 in the vice and clamp it back into shape. If you need to bend it can always slip an old pipe over the end the required distance and give it some leverage. I also find once they bend they're more likely to bend again so they usually end up in the 'spares' kit.

I use a MAPP torch, vise, and pliers and never break any.

Bent my gear lever the other day right back to the footpeg.
Took it off and went over to the traier. I poked it through a tie down steel loop and then bent it back into shape. Was good enough to finish the enduro anyway.
Cheers Mark

Heat it and let it cool - this will soften the aluminum - annealing. Then bending it back into shape will "work harden" the lever back to original strength.
