Yes to name change.I feel sorry for new gasgas owners that stumble into this site like a possum in a gin trap.
To be fair Betamax was the superior technology, but more expensive and the porn industry standardized on VHS as it was cheaper.

Plenty of people treated GG as an oddball here for years. Then more and more would show up.

I have a 2018 Gasgas GP300 with 17 hrs on it in OHIO. Great bike just simply too much power for my style of riding. I even put in a Recluse exp that now has 2 hours on it to try to tame it down. It did a little but not enough.

I'd recommend adding the heaviest flywheel weight you can find. That should turn it into a 3HONEY👌

G2 throttle cam. First time i rode my ec300 coming off of an xr250, i overjumped the landing and flat landed the thing. Yikes. Bought a G2 throttle, and use the mildest cam (400). REALLY made a difference.

I had a flywheel weight, and it just made the bike "mushy." The G2 was a better solution for me, but that doesn't mean it's right for everyone.

GP has hi comp head, presumably 13.7:1. Instal regular GG head or cut out some compression.
