Default Steering stem race. Remind me.

Have to change a mates soon. Can you tap the lower race out of the frame from the top? (2010)

Maybe it just overhangs? I've had to use the welder to shrink them before but I'd like to not have to take it over.

I've ground grooves fore and art before to make the next time more easy for the next owner. I'm nice like that.

Cheers.

Me too! But it is still usually me that owns the bike and changes them out again!
I am pretty sure gg leave enough lip on the frame to tap them out. I have ground out groove before removing the race on other bikes and cleaned them up once the race was out too with a barrel shaped die grinding bit and a steady hand.

The ones that I have replaced (2006 and 2015) have been tapped out from the top, no problems there.

Shweet. Thanks guys. Might tell him to do that then bring the stem to me for some precision cutoff wheel action. I'm like a surgeon with a grinder.
