Default 3 Days of Coffs Harbour trails!

Friday Saturday and Sunday was an annual 3 day trail session by a club im in. It was a wet start with 120mm of rain dumped in 2 days but it was not about to hold us up and we met at the local servo and despite it still raining 27 bikes turned up ready toroll out, After a quick rider breifing we were off and in to the scrub punching through some tight technical single trail in clay and rock, we got to our 1st of many creek crossing which were about 2ft deep and flowing steady. We made our way around about 65km and included a gnarly hillclimb called THE WIDOWMAKER! this was my 1st ride on the gg300 and my 1st 2 stroke bike and i have to say it smashes hills like they are driveways! You can see footage of the widowmaker on youtube. Our weekend vids are not up yet but will be soon. We got back into town and in to the beers and a yarn of midfield madness in the mud. Saturday morning i was keen to get into the gg for another flogging but 3km after leaving our caravan park where we stayed i had no rear brake and upon investigation found the pin that holds the rear pads in was gone along with a pad!! AGHHHH!!! so straight back to camp and in the car to a local dealer and picked up all parts needed to get it back on the trails and seeing as though i missed the saturday session me and a bloke on a ktm350 who also had dramas with a tiny filter getting clogged got a wheelie and roost session down a beach nearby to fill the arvo in. Saturday night we had a charity auction with a few donated part and apparel and some bike stands and carry racks etc raising $3k for charity! It was an awesome night but the sunday ride saw us all lined up ready for round 3 and the sun was out the trails were just wet enough to keep the dust off which in my book does not get any better! We hammered a heap of singles some snotty rocky hills and a few open fire trails then back to the camp for a quick swim and pack our gear up ready for a long drive home. Being my first ride on the gg300 i am definetly happy with my purchase and with a few more jetting alterations i will be happy as a pig in sh#t.

Cheers Nato.

You'd swear the gg300 was designed with south eastern australian coastal red clay and rockfest hills, everyone that rides mine doesn't want to get off. If you want a super amazing combo, buy an IRC M5B 130/80 rear and a metzeler six days hard front (It strangely works that front). Dungog was like what you describe yesterday, even the heat didn't detract from the fun. Enjoy!

Looks like some nice hills! Damn prime riding conditions! Wish I could make my way to the other end of the country for a ride!
