If you really want a change I think you should look more closely at the Sherco. We just got out first demo 300 2T and it is really good. Check out the comments on it at the Sherco forum from some guys who rode it this weekend. wwwshercoforum.com Support from the factory is excellent and they keep a ton of parts in stock.

Back in Oct I was in the market for a new 14 GG300 to replace my 11 WR 300 Husky, and no word from GG when the 14s will show up if ever! I then contacted both Beta Dealers here in NJ ,one dealer never returned either of my calls ,and the other had a new 14 300 but do to an issue with the NJMVC he had to hold new vehicle sales. I then contacted Beta direct to ask if they will sell me direct and that i have a NJ dealer licence. They said no ,, so I ended up with a new KTM 300XC which was the last bike on my list and my first KTM( although its an AMAZING machine!)

That is just amazing. I've abandoned the piss poor service of Dealers a long time ago. I just drive out of state for the cheapest OTD price. There are some good dealers, but they are outnumbered by a large margin.

I was set on a 14 GG250 based on a rumor that there was going to be an approx 12-15 lb loss. I'm disappointed to hear it is only about a 4lb loss.

I have a '12 GG 250 ES. If I was to upgrade, I'd have no issue getting a '14 GG, as they have such a good chassis & I love the engine. The incremental upgrades are icing on the cake.

The Betas are nice, but not nice enough for me to want switch.

I like that my main dealer nearby is a Beta dealer...but I picked the Gas Gas to be different. I bought new so price was not an issue and I have no loyalty on brands and tend not to fall for the mine is better hype. I think they all have their pluses and minuses.

I probably would look at a Sherco because they look neat and not many out there, again to be different but I have 6 to 7 more years I also don't buy just to have the latest bike.

Don't take this wrong....but isn't there already a long thread about this same topic?

I'm backing Clay up here. Sherco's sound like a great bike. They have taken a lot of the GasGas old best employees and engineers who made the bikes we love and are now on the road to making a killer 2 stroke!!

I would definitely be talking to Clay about a Sherco if I was looking for a new bike!!!

I think if I ever "upgrade" from my 2010 EC250 it will either be another GG or a Sherco.

Those Beta's sure are good looking bikes though:

I'm excited to get a ride on the Sherco, and I have no doubt they'll be the first to roll out an injected 2 banger. They have some good things going for them however I think based on what I read that they will be a bit docile. Maybe not the right word, but smooth to the point of unexciting. Also while the electronically controlled PV being linked with the ignition timing is a great idea for performance, what maintenance/issues will they have with it down the track?

Different strokes for different folks. The 3-4 different shades of red makes the bike look a little weird to me but would be an easy fix - replace seat cover and wrap forks with carbon fiber graphics would make this bike look great. IMO
