Any modern high flashpoint synthetic 2stroke racing oil is good. Amsoil, Motul, Maxima, Castrol etc. Klotz should be fine as well. Stay away from any castor blends, they burn dirty.

Crankcase? Gearbox?

My 2010 EC300 takes 900ml of 10w40. Gas Gas advises the use of GRO (global racing oil) both for the 2 stroke fuel and for the gearbox. Obviously different oils for each.

Most people run their fav 4 stroke oil for the gearbox 0w-30/0w40. As long as it doesn't contain friction modifiers that will mess the clutch plates up then no issues.

I personally use Amsoil Dominator at 50:1 for the fuel and Amsoil 10w40 in the gearbox.

Premix : Anything fully synthetic in a brand you have heard of that you dont mind paying for.
Gearbox : I use a litre(because we are metric in NZ) of whatever I get cheap, which at the moment is elf 4hp eco semi synthetic, and ELF 2XT for premix.

Hi Noobi,

Where do you get ELF products from in NZ and what are you paying for the
2T ? I currently use Castrol TTS but the price keeps going up

Thanks - Harry

My preferences go for ester based synthetic oils. I run Motul 800 factory line Off Road for the gas (3%) and Motul 5100 for the gearbox.
If I can't find Motul I go for Fuchs-Silkolene
