I dropped wossner in to my -11's throat. 2 earlier were original S3 and lasted 40hours and 60 hours. After that so loud piston slap both times thay I thought my bearings have failed... Hope to that wossner lasts longer. I've allways used good premix oil, clean airfilter, proper jetting etc...

Must be something wrong in those oem pistons... my bike has now 125 hours in it and there shouldn't be need for piston change at these hours...

Gas Gas EC 300 Factory Racing 2012
- Ohlins TTX both front and rear
- Rekluse Core EXP 2.0 + Rekluse clutch basket
- Scalvini full exhaust system
- S3 Head
- Trusty adjustable PV cover

That was ultimate setup for me...
Now trying something else for a while...

S3 is Vertex
Woessner and Vertex have the same quality and look very similar
Athena is Vertex and Woessner
I would try Wiseco.

Did you try going up a size on the piston after the first one?

I found the same thing with my S3/Vertex branded stock one. By 75 hours it sounded like death. The Wossner is now at the same hours again and sounding good still. Strangly the Vertex had very little blow by. Rings were still well in spec, and only minor wear on the skirt. Just noisey!

I did it now. My barrell was stamped A. The first I dropped was A S3. Now I used B wossner and it is perfect ;-) No heating problems - and trust me Bike gets hot when driwing thru 1/2 - 1 meter snow ;-)

I swapped out my original from my 2005 with a Vertex. It had the dreaded slap after a little over 60 hours. I put a Wossner in last spring with fingers crossed that it will last until my 2012 gets here in April.

im still having some trouble finding a piston. Wiseco says they dont have one for a 2011 300, and vertex only lists them up to 2007 and Vertex only list them up to 2009.

96-12 should all be the same piston kit, the 07 will work-
Wiseco part # 850M07200 @ $206.62 in stock - http://wiseco.com/ProductSearch.aspx
GoFasters part # WIS300 @ $199.99 is $7 cheaper for same kit http://www.gofasters.com/productdeta...atalogId=-2231
Vertex part # 22981B @ $180.00 but out of stock http://www.na.vertexpistons.com/Prod...x?item_id=5459
