Stock springs GasGas EC 250/300 2000
Hey,
does anybody know the stock spring rates of the 2000 ECs? Fork is not as important as the shock. Thanks |

Hi Vietze, welcome to the forum.
My experience with the Gassers doesn't extend back that far so unable to help you with the specific question, but I'm sure someone here will know for you. Still quite a few early 2K models getting around. |

Quick check of Racetech spring calculator shows 2000 models came stock with 0.4kg/mm forks and 4.8kg/mm shock.
2004+ has been .42 and 5.2 |

Jakobi, I checked the RT side too for infos but they only listed a XC model when I looked it up. Did I do the searching wrongly? However, I did not know that GG had XC models anyway... I do have an ?hlins valving list for the GG2820 shock and it lists a 52 as stock spring too.... So I got a little confused. Thanks Flo |

The whole XC EC thing is essentially the same bike. I believe the XC just came without the road registerable bits and pieces (blinkers, brake lights, etc). I think the MC models had lighter 2K2 ignitions, but as I said earlier, I've got no experience and little knowledge of the early models. Only delved into the world of Gas Gas in 2010 myself. There will be someone here who knows what you need to know though.

The stock rear spring on my '01 EC (XC) 300 was Ohlins 596-09/50 038 which I'm assuming is a 5.0, I'm pretty sure the '00 and '01 are essentially the same bike. Does yours has inverted 43mm WP forks?
