Default power valve question

Hi all
I have adjusted my power valve to have a slight preload on the stop and I've put it back together and run it with the rh power valve cover off. When i rev it out the triangular plate doesn't rotate all the way to its fully open stop. Is that normal? My bike is a 2007 ec200.

Thanks.

I would guess you are not going to revit out as much in your garage as you would on the trail so doubt you will get full open in neutral (my thoughts)

And presumably you have pulled the valve & cleaned it? It can be done in place & is pretty easy. There are instructions in the tech area.

I didn't bother cleaning the valves, they looked really clean and then system seemed to move freely when i turned it by hand

Also make sure you do not have too much preload, you just want enough to get the actuator back to the stop. I think one scientific approach was the "slightly compress a soda straw" method ;-)

I was thinking that might be the case but i spent a while making sure the actuator plate only just touched the stop when I released the governor.

So what did you find out? I have the same problem with a 2003 MC250 engine and the PV quickly moves half way and stops rotating. The bike runs pretty well but does not rev out completely.

seem to recall others mentioning the actuator rod can foul or stick in passage, fix was to carefully! tweak rod if this is the issue.
