Default 2010 cross country or racing?

Has anyone been able to ride the Cross country model & the racing 'R' model?
I have decided to retire the 2002 ec300 with much regret,it is a fantastic bike.I am now really uncertain whether to buy the cross country or 'R' model.
I am an intermediate rider ,will never do an ISDE ,may do a couple of local GNCC rides next year but mainly social trail rides, really social!
I just want the most bang for my bucks, but don't want to get a bike I then have tame/revalve to be ridable.Any ride reviews would be most helpful.

Sounds like you already have the perfect bike. Are you bored with it, or is it worn out?

Unless you are racing, I suspect the R model will be too stiff, and will require revalve and re-springing.

The bike is getting to the stage where everything is wearing out.The maintenance cost will be getting higher each year.I probably would have kept it another year but a guy has made me a very good offer,it wasn't even for sale!
Haven't heard much about the 2010 suspension, would I revalve the cross country anyway?

I have a 08 ec 300 now and rode the new 2010 ec300racing. I recommend the racing. You will have to get both models revalved probably so that not issue. The motor on the racing believe it or not seemed to me smoother. I will be getting the racing model for that reason. Torque and smooth

chance

Cheers Baker, good feed back. The dealer thought the R model would be very twitchy because of the lighter fly wheel.

We have a top A-rider in Arizona with an EC250 Racing.

He is very fast. I suspect you are not. The suspension is tendon-fatiguingly stiff (which suits him just fine).

Run, don't walk, from the Racing version.

my 06 300 came with the lighter flywheel. I've got 10 oz weight on it. If I keep it I'm thinking I might try a euro flywheel, 2k3 is it? on it.
