The stock needle has very few fans...anywhere...ever.i just meant if the 18 had the same N1E? as stock as pre18 then the NED/NEC should work well in a straight swap.

The Gas Gas GP and EC head are VERY different in design.. The engine will respond very differently due ot this design difference.

Both heads, IMO, have their associated flaws... The EC head is surely the poorer design between the two..

There exists a lo tof room for improvement with the Gas Gas head design

I bet you dollars to doughnuts that the head design won’t affect jetting hardly at all. I went from a stock head to an S3 with black insert on my 15 300 and didn’t have to change jetting one bit.

I ended up with a GP300, (long story). And after the factory fixes it's back in my garage and rideable.
My question is how to tame the beast? I've been on 4t bikes for awhile, although had a KTM 300 for many years as well.
The GP is a fire breathing dragon. Serious arm stretcher with a very very touchy throttle. On my trials bike i just got the white throttle tube and it tamed my 280 very much and is way more controllable, especially in tough sections.

Curious if anyone has tried that with the new GG Enduro bikes?
Hi, So what jetting did you start out with? Stock with N1EF needle?
I'm curious to know what jetting you ended up with as I just got a GP300 myself.

GasGas and I decided to part ways. I think the new bikes are really good.

Be great to hear you elaborate on this.

Is it just squish clearance reduction increasing compression ratios? Or has the GP head actually been corrected in volume to give a tighter clearance? Squish band angle to piston dome the same?

I have also found that changing head design doesn't really throw the jetting out of the ballpark. You might need to change a jet size here or there, maybe half a clip on the needle, but in many cases the improved efficiency of a well cut head offsets any additional fuelling requirements due to increased compression.
