Default Hello

Just like to introduce myself to the Forum, Now the proud ? owner of a very ropey EC200 2001 - she runs and had a full top and bottom rebuild. But in need of some tender loving care, Hope you don't mind but some help from the forum will surely be appreciated along the way.

Not my first restoration - Been riding since I was about 10 years old so a few years under the belt

Regards

Mogz

I love my '01 XC 200, I'm sure you'll love yours once you get it dialed in.

I'll second that, to this day I swear it's the best bike I've ever owned and I had more than a few.

Welcome to the Forum Mogz.

As for transferable parts I'm not the man to ask. But I'm sure a wiser person than I will be along soon to help you. I would recommend measuring the diameter of your forks and researching what else used the same size setup. I believe the Yamaha SSS forks are a popular swap on the older bikes but I'm not sure what years.

Welcome Mogz. I'm up in south Cumbria but hoping to get to your neck of the woods over summer for a few rides. I can't help much with your forks question but maybe post a couple of pictures so people can have a look at what you've got and advise what might fit.

Default Its Alive !!

When I bought the EC200 a couple of days ago I was greeted with site of a broken kick start so a bump in the rain and a very short run on a council estate in the welsh valleys took me back to my youth).

But the price was negotiated and sight of lots of brand new gaskets gave me some confidence.

Well today I was rewarded, 2nd hand YZ250 Kick start arrived and was fitted, started first kick and has continued to do so, very happy sounds sweet as.

Tad on the noisy side as shes had the usual ham fisted baffle removal.

Even manged to get some AC output from the Stator although the Rectifier is missing, but the loom is looking pretty intact so fingers crossed.

I will add some pics later
