After all your explanations I can't decode my VIN.
VTREC200106010339 It's a EC 200, but how where can I see the year's model? Thanks in advance |

Thanks for the information. How's the counterbalanced EC doing? Is the 50cc SM still going strong? Good riding to You! Jim

VTR = Racing vehicle EC = EC model 20 = 200cc 01 = 2001 year model (Do you have the small airbox door on your airbox's left side in front of the left number plate? That started in 2001.) The rest of the digits are related to manufacturer's run numbers for that model. 2002 was the first year that GG gave the tenth digit of the VIN a letter designation. Yours has a number in the 10th spot. .

in the kick starter after kicking through. I am getting that sound on the down stroke... And some times it will slip a tooth or two on the ratchet. And for some reason it feels like the compression has increased. Last time I rode it, it made a loud "Pank, Pank, Pank" sound from the exhaust. Sad cause last year I replaced all the linkage bearings, had the forks and shock rebuilt. Generally went through the whole bike and spiffed it up. Only got a couple hundred miles in the canyons with it. The EC50SM went back to AZ where it's owner lives. Ran out of storage space in the garage. Still have the Pampera. Have not worked out the title issue yet, bummer. I do have an Idaho non-resident OHV tag on it, so I can ride it. Cheers, Jeff |
