Default E start removal

Ola fellow gassers, how much weight would drop and what is involved in this removal? 2011 EC300.

I wish I could bolt it up to my 01 300 because I might buy it from you. Why would you take it off? So you save a couple of pounds?.. I don't think it will save as much energy as pushing a button to start.

I have a Rekluse and usually kick my bike over once for the whole day. I thought I read on here it was like 12 lbs weight reduction, thats quit a bit.

I guess that's good if I had or wanted a rekluse but I'm not liking it for a variety of sketchy situations. 12 lbs sounds like a lot.. I guess the battery brings it up but I'd get a lithium light battery to bring that weight down.

As you know it won't bolt up to '01 cases. 12 lb. savings sounds about right, plus the battery portion is up high.

Removing it would rerquire a standard ignition cover and PV cover.

So what would be required with an 01 ? have to change the actual case? or is it a side cover?..or what? The estart kit says something like 99 and up but that doesn't mean more isn't needed like what you've said... Thanks for the info!!!

Ok I just got back from my gasgas dealer today and I see that the case has a flat section by the ignition and my 01 does not. Oh well ... at least I got to see an 11' and 12' gasgas 250 and 300 and a variety of older models here and there. I see a brand new ktm 250 there also.. I've got to say in comparison I think the gasgas is a better bike.. It's not too often that I could see it up close with a brand new gasgas next to a brand new KTM 250/300. . It's not often that there are so many gasgas in one shop ... at least in my experience.. even for a gasgas dealer. usually there's just a couple and not many of the newest. I just showed up at the right day I guess.
