Default Are the 03 and 06 front wheels the same?

I was looking at the wheels on my 06 and 03 and the rears are the same. I have swapped them from time to time based on the tire I want to run, but I am not sure about the front. The front hex axle nut is different and the axle itself is different on the right side. Everything else looks the same such as the hub and bearings etc. If I were to take the axle spacers out of the 06 rim and slip them into the 03 rim and use the 06 axle, would my 03 rim work for me on the 06. I'm thinking about taking the extra set with me to the enduro this weekend in case of a flat. Any help would be great.

In '04 (maybe '05) axle size increased in diameter so the front wheels won't directly interchange.
