Looking at the pretty bike transformations got me to thinking about something.
When I bought my 2011 EC250, the first thing I noticed was that when I lifted the bike using the handholds (holes) under the rear of the seat, it distorted the seat and made me fear that I would break something (seat base, etc). Since 1997, I had been using the holes in the side panels to grab the sub-frame to lift the rear of the bike. Now, I was stumped. I really don't like lifting the bike by the silencer. My solution was to install a Tugger Lift Strap. Thanks to Fred Overstreet, who rides a 2010 Gasser, I got it attached properly, right at the end of the sub-frame, with the loop over the top of the rear fender. (Good friends are very handy to have.) I am very happy with the Tugger, and the cost is only $12. To me, it is a plus that the Tugger Lift Strap is produced and sold by regular people who ride dirt bikes. In fact, I met them on one of the riding trips I've made to Idaho. Good guys who hail from Utah. They have a fantastic warranty on their products. Check them out if you get a chance. http://www.thetugger.com/index.php?r...&product_id=52 Photo #7 shows an approximation of how I connected the strap to my 2011 EC250. I am attaching a photo of my 2011 and my son's 2000 XC250 on the trailer. You can see the Tugger Lift Strap looped over the rear fender. (You can also see my "Dead Bull Racing Team" sticker on the headlight number plate. ) Good Riding to All Y'all! Jim Cook .

The tugger I have on my 2010 is wrapped around the steel bars under the seat. But generally I have found it easier to lift using the reinforced section of the rear fender ( where the tail piece meets the side number board)

I wish I could show you, but will have to wait on the photo to arrive. I hope that this helps. Jim .

Phil,
I sent the photos to my wife, Deb, in a text message; who emailed to me. Her phone does this better than mine. Here they are. Read the description the post above and it will help while looking at the photos. They are upside down. The bike is on the work stand and I am using the Tugger as a place to attach a tie down to secure the bike while the front wheel is in the air. The photo which is attached, but not shown, is of my bike on the trailer, which shows the Tugger looped over the rear fender.

I have one more photo of my naked subframe, which shows the holes I used to attach the Tugger.

My Tugger strap mounts neatly on my 2010 but your plastics seem to be different. You don't seem to have the black Tuition Support as GasGas call it. But either way it just bolts straight into the subframe.

Thanks for the pictures, guys, and sorry to thread jack. I have the tail light support on my bike, but it's coming off soon for an upcoming race (Desert 100!). I see how you both have it mounted, and that makes great sense. I will likely do the same if you both agree that it's strong enough back there with those little 5mm bolts. Better than using the airbox holes/handles, I bet.

Here in the States, we call that plastic the taillight support, and for some legal reasons the bikes have not been imported with the street gear installed. Thanks for the photo.
Phil, Good luck in the race. Since the pull of the Tugger is lateral, the bolt is plenty strong. Good Ridinng to All Y'all! Jim .

Here is a pic of mine. I just looped it around the steel bars under the seat (can see them on Jim's pics) but generally find it easier to lift where the black hand grips are on philm's pic (I also don't have the tail supports)
