Default crossovers ?

Just wondering what to do?
Can you get the 07 ec 300 with a white headlight surround instead of red?
Also what rims will fit my 07 ?
I have been told Husky rims fit?
Cheers Mark

Buchanan makes there own blanks here in the USA, and can drill the hole angle pattern for the GG hub. Spokes of course too.

Thanks Glenn.
You don't know about the husky rims and axles?
Do you know where I could get a white headlight surround for my 07?
Cheers Mark

Mark,

Most things here come through GoFasters. My '07 came with just a plate, I have a Hebo Granada light from an '05.

This was discussed a few months ago I beleive in another thread, maybe even some dimmensions listed there. I know a Husky rear wheel is not going to fit right on, but I can't say its impossible either with some custom parts. KX rears will fit with a spacer change I beleive. I've also heard it done with KTM rears. If the rotor to sprocket dimmension is the same, the offsets can be corrected with custom spacers.

What I do know first hand, as I've just done it, is that a pre '04 front wheel set up for the 20mm axel used with WP forks can be eaisly converted for use on all the new bikes with the 25mm axel. You need to swap the bearings, seals, center spacer, and two wheel spacers. The hubs have different part#s, but all it seems to be from my measurements is that the newer hub is cut 3mm more narrow on each side of the center casting, as the newer bearings are more narrow. The thrust or load dimmension across the bearings and spacers inside is exactly the same. All this does is cause the seal to ride 3mm more outboard on the spacers when seated flush, which is perfectly fine.

A pre '03 rear wheel goes right on using its own spacers, axels are the same.

No worries Glenn,
Thanks again for your help mate.
I will look around and see what I can find here in Australia.
My rims are not the roundest rims around.
Cheers Mark

I have new black excels and want to put silver one on instead, but the excel/talon distributor said it wasn't worth their while to make them for me.

I grabbed a set of the DID "U" wheels in great shape from a part out. Best wheels ever for rocky terrain, my '03 had them and they were straight and true after four years. Finding just rims for the GG spoke pattern is next to impossible. I was going to get a set of the Buchanan Sun rims, which are also very strong, before I found the DIDs. See what the shipping would be from Buchanan in CA to Austrailia.

Do a search from a few years back. Found a guy put an '89 Honda CR250 rear on an '07 GG, direct swap. Another put a '03 KTM front on with bearings and spacers changed. More I'm sure. A consolidation of this data in a Sticky would be a good idea, I'll try and do it.
