Please Help - Rear Wheel Bearing 2001 XC250

Can someone confirm if the rear wheel on 2001 XC250 requires the spacer between the 2 bearings on the sprocket side. The manual for a 2000 model does not show one, but the 2003 does. Next thing, where can I find a 2001 manual?
