Default Trials bike question

I'm looking at buying a 2003 TXT 280. Just wondering if there's only one model of this or is there a TXT and a TXT Pro. If the Pro is different what are the diffs.

Thanks,

Jack

They are completely different bikes. The TXT will be a TXT limited. They were called this after the release of the pro. About the only common components the share are the wheels.

The TXT range came in as many flavors as the Pro does now (125, 200, 250 and 280. No 300 though)

If you find an '02 or '03 Pro leave it alone. After that they were fine.

Do you think I should stay away from the TXT limited and wait to find a Pro. I assume the Pro's are better in a number of ways. I'm a novice so maybe it doesn't make much difference since I probably can't do justice to either bike!

Thanks.

The TXT was a little softer and more compromising, more robust too. The pro is built like a Swiss watch and is a pure thoroughbred with no compromises. As a novice you won't notice much of a difference but will when you start faffing around with tricks where the pro excels.

This TXT will be mostly a yard toy with some trail riding so it looks like it would suit my needs even though it's not a top of the line trials bike.

Thanks a lot for the advice, much appreciated!

I've heard the Pro will scare the bejeezus out of you if you're not confident in what you're doing.

I concure ... get the txt. Much less likely to send you off into the trees
if you slip up somewhere. even a 280 txt will have plenty of grunt to get you in trouble if you not paying attention. beta 200 is the ultimate noob bike!!

Only the 280 & 300s. The rest are quite docile.
