Default Seat

This bike is going to put me in an early grave !!

Have bought a Clarke large fuel tank for my ?02 EC300.

Now find out the seat doesn?t fit

The tank ?pushes? the seat back about inch and a half.

Anybody done any ?working? mods to overcome this please ??

Apparently 2005-6 seat DOES fit

I had the same problem. Depending on how bad it is I was able to bend one seat with some heat. Another one was really far off and I had to drill the seat mounting bracket rivets and relocate the mounting bracket further forward or swap brackets from one side to the other. BTW- use washers on the top side of the plastic seat pan.

Another option may be to move the subframe further back either with the slop in the mounting holes or by slotting the mounting holes.

I fit a Clark tank to a 01 ec250 a while ago and had to pull the cover back and trim about 15mm off the front of the seat I think. The rest was warmed into place with a heat gun.

Thanks for your replies, problem is I have fitted a new seat cover a while back !!

May look at bracket/plates from new position to line up with the frame holes.

If you drill the rivets and swap the mounts you might be able to get away without the washers on the plastic seat pan. Otherwise you only need to pull the staples in the back.
