Default AC Racing Sub Frame

Anyone have one installed on there bike?
I need a new sub frame and this looks like my best bet.

Any fit problems ect? Does it come with the fender support?

Thanks.

Where have you seen an AC subframe to fit a GasGas?

The AC subframe that works is the one for 95-97 KX250s.

It fits fine other than your you have to convert the seat mounting configuration slightly as the AC unit has the seat bolt threads cut into the subframe so you have to remove the threaded nuts that are "pushed" into the aluminum GasGas seat mounting brackets as the seat bolt has to reach through these to screw into the AC subframe.

The AC subframe is superior as there are 4 CNC machined "receivers" welded into the tubing as compared to the GasGas subframe that has the tubing "smashed together." These "receivers" are where the 4 bolts attach the subframe to the frame.

The AC's CNC recievers are less prone to bending or cracking. The tubing also is thicker on the AC subframe compared to the GasGas one.

Thanks for the info Steve.

It's already in the mail, I couldn't wait for the post to take off so I just went ahead and ordered one.

It was A-M or used for me. Stock unit a little on the steep side for what you get. One loop out and it's gone.

Ouch that looks like that might have hurt!!!!

Even thought the AC subframe needs a little tweaking to get it to work it is by far a superior unit to the stock one for strength.

Personally I would recommend that the AC subframe be used to replace a broken/bent stock one everytime if you can live with changing the seat mounting brackets.

The BBR subframe for the same year KX fits as well. I had to trim some of the side panel plastic where it contacts the subframe, but is by far superior to the stock subframe.

Get rid of the fender loop extension, it just adds leverage for eaiser bending.
