I wondered if it's possible to downgrade the 300 to a 200 barrell D piston?
I have a txtpro 300, but find it a bit of a handful to ride, I have been recommended a 200, so I wonder what the difference s are? If it's just the engine then is it just the barrell and cylinder? And therefore can I just change them on it? |

The old TXT200 was built on the 125 and had different cases. Bet not much has changed there.
Cheaper and easier to sell the 300 and buy a 200. The 200 is a great engine. Does what you want but doesn't charge off in a different direction when you give it a bit more throttle than perhaps required. Saved me many times.

Old thread, yeah, I know (but then this forum is a tad slow
![]() I have a 2020 TXT300, and I've thought the exact same thing. Dealer only had 300s, and had sold the only 280 they were alloted. So home came the 300. I also had the idea, hey, just get a complete top end, right?! Till I saw the price! I guess a more progressive throttle tube and more/longer learning period it will be! |

No, but it's worth considering. I'm also going to look into the different throttle tubes.

You can also add a spacer to the top end, and a second base gasket, lastly retard the timing a bit. All will soften the power and make it a bit easier to start.
