Same, Rivet it when its new, keep a clip in the tool bag with a mini breaker for Justin

I dont trust those clips, they always wear away and fling off as you unload it from the ute about to start an awesome two day ride. Rivets not so much.

I always use a clip and have never lost one. I always carry a spare.

Clip. The theory being if the chain wants to snap it will on the weak link, which is the clip, so I carry a spare clip link which only takes a few minutes to fit.

And the only time I fitted a rivet link the chain snapped last Sunday and took out half the bike with it!

Clip because rivet is not as simple as it sounds (one of those black arts like suspension valving)

clip. but my dad has us put some silicone on the clip. he says it was a regulation for when he raced on track.

We put it on top of it. The silicone can flex enough where it does not tare.
