Default embarrassing question

Well I feel like an idiot but I cant work out how to take my air filter off. Last buke had a simple wingnut to undo but I cant figure out the whole.spring and metal thing? So how does it work?

with your hand at the back of the rod simply push the alumn. rod w/ spring towards the front of the bike. this allows the rod to be removed from the rear fender. very simple.

Pull toward your air filter, the metal will extend into the air filter cage enough to release from the rear fender area.
Great simple design.

Next trick is getting the filter cage back in so it isn't hanging up. Do a search.

your not the first guy that has been stumped by the funky filter holders! as they say a silly question is way better than a silly mistake.
