Default INJECTOR cross referrence??

Anybody know who makes the injector on the 05 450 fse? I would like to change mine, but they are 350.00 from GG. They are only 30-40.00 for a car, and are basically the same thing. If anyone has any thoughts, please let me know.

I did some research on this a few months ago and didn't turn anything up that was an exact match. I believe some European Fiat models have the same basic injector but without the right angle feed. It is very similar to the IW 058 pintle type top feed one from Marelli. Take a trawl through ali baba or other chinese sites you might get lucky. I very much doubt that it is unique to GG and were most likely supplied to them by Marelli as a kit. The ECU we have comes from a group used on many bikes including Aprillia, Ducati and I believe HD so you may have some luck there.
The outrageous spares price, Like the cost of a replacement ecu, is consistent with Gas Gas's policy of buy a new bike after 3 years or we will screw you!

Yes........I agree. Come on! 350.00 for an injector??? What's it cost to make.... 30 cents.......I don't have a problem with a company making a profit, but that is ridiculous.

Cant even buy them individually in Aust. Comes with Throtle body and $1100.

$350 now seems cheap.

I had mine cleaned and seems to be working again fine. But if it goes again I will be trying to get one from USA.

How do they clean them? Is it something that we can do, or does it require a special device to do so?

no you cant do yourself, take it to any good bike or maybe car service center it cost me only $25.00, is called a hyrdoscopic bath, its hard to explain but it works on sound pressure waves which creates cavitation very small bubbles inside the injector they inplod and clean up all deposits, they will also connect up to a injector pump and though a clear tube they can see it the injector has a correct fuel pressure spread etc, dont get a new injector until you have had yours checked out, if its the same as an 08 it just pulls out from the throttle body.

Update:
The Weber injector IWP 043 is not very common in North America, at least not as common as it is in Europe. In the UK for example the injector is 44 sterling inc next day delivery.
The same injector is used on VW Passat and Santara 1.8l vehicles which I think were sold here? If so then there is probably an equivalent, maybe even from Napa.
Siemens Deka also make it, sold by Muscle Motors for $64, but it's not clear where they are based. Their part numbers are IWP-043 and IWP-162 which is listed as an equivalent.
The injectors shown for HD bikes are the same physical dimensions and are 32lb/hr (329 cc/min). They have an extra clip in the groove at the top and have a yellow plastic band on them (ours are brown band) so I think they are different. Online price in the USA is about $70.
The injector does have a fine gauze filter in the top which cannot be removed. Mine was completely clogged up with the inside of the fuel hose which had completely disintegrated into fine black particles and a grey goo! Just hope it works when I put the new hose on.
